crochet hexagon flower tote

Here is a free crochet pattern for a hexagon fall flower tote. The flower motifs are fairly quick and easy to crochet up and are joined to each other as you make them. The only time consuming thing about making this bag is to weave in all the ends. However, to speed things up you can work most of them into your work as you crochet. I do not know how much yarn you will need of each color because I used up my leftover yarn from other projects. But the good news is that if you run out of one color, you can always switch to another color and make each motif different as long as you use the same type of yarn.   Enjoy!
Material: Red Heart Soft Touch or any other yarn that you have on hand.
Hook Size: G/6-4.25MM, or any other hook suitable for your yarn. Finished Measurement: Each motif measures approximately 3.75 inches across. When laying flat, the finished bag measures approximately 11 inches across, 11 inches at the highest point from top to bottom and 9.5 at the lowest points from top to bottom.CA: Center , CB: Flower Petals , CC: Leaves , CD: Raised Petals in Center , CE: Edging/Joining,  Need to make 26 motifs.  With CA: Ch 3, join with sl st.

Joining the Motifs to Shape the Tote: Join 7 motifs together to form a strip. Then add another 2 strips with only 6 motifs on the second strip and 7 motifs on the third strip. This will indent the second strip as pictured.
Joining the Sides: To join/close the sides of the bag you will need to fold it in half and join 3 motifs along each side of the bag to connect the two sides of the folded strip. Join the first side motif in between the top 2 motifs as pictured:  The 3rd side is worked without joining, but the corner is joined to the corresponding motif on the opposite side. Continue to join along the corresponding sides. (This connects the two sides of the bag at the top). The last side is worked without joining.
The next motif is joined in the same way as the previous motif except that it is joined to the previous motif along the 3rd side.
The 3rd motif is joined into the last opening. Each motif has 6 sides, but the last opening only has 5 sides to which you can join the motif. That means the last side of the current motif, which should fall on the bottom of the bag, is joined together. The rest of the motif is joined to the other sides in the same way as the previous motifs. To begin joining the 3rd motif, lay the bag flat and join the first corner of the current motif on the corner pointing to the bottom of the bag as pictured.
Then continue to join the corresponding sides until all the sides on the completed motifs have been joined. When you get to the last remaining side of the current motif fold it in half and connect the back to the front by working a sl st into the first ch-1 sp, sk the next st on the front side and sc into the next st on front side, ch 1, join with a sl st to the first sc made on the motif. Fasten Off. Repeat the above steps on the other side of the bag.
Handles (Make 2):Row 1: Join CE to the first sc after the ch-1 sp on the top motif as pictured. Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next ch and in next st. Turn.  Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each st across. Turn.
Repeat row 2 until the handle is long enough, then join with sl sts into corresponding sts of the next motif that extends from the bag. You can attach this to the motif across, or to the one beside being careful not to twist the handle.
Edging for Top and Handles: Join CE to any st or ch along the top of the bag and sc evenly around the bag and handles working 3 sc sts into each corner ch-2 lp. Fasten off. source
