Rnd 2- Start crocheting in the first stitch from the previous round. Crochet 2 Single Crochets in the first stitch. Crochet 2 Single Crochets into every stitch all around. Do not slip stitch into the first single crochet of this round. You should have 12 stitches now.
Rnd 3- Start crocheting in the first stitch from the previous round. Crochet 2 Single Crochets into the first stitch. *Crochet 1 Single Crochet into the next stitch. Crochet 2 Single Crochets into the next stitch. Repeat from the * all around. You should have 18 stitches now.
Rnd 4- Start crocheting in the first stitch from the previous round. Crochet 2 Single Crochets into the first stitch. *Crochet 1 Single Crochet into the next 2 stitches. Crochet 2 Single Crochets into the next stitch. Repeat from the * all around. You should have 24 stitches now.

Taking your tapestry needle, sew 1 head onto the top of each bootie {Note: Remember to stuff each head before sewing them onto the booties}.
I also knotted some yarn onto the top of each duckling head, and frayed those bits of yarn to create a feather like appearance.
Duckbill
Taking your 3.50mm crochet hook and DK orange yarn, start of by making a Slip Knot, then crochet 3 Chains.
Row 1- Crochet 1 Single Crochet into the second chain from your hook. Crochet 1 Single Crochet in the next chain. You should have 2 stitches now. Turn your work.
Row 2- Chain 1, Crochet 2 Single Crochets in the same stitch. Crochet 2 Single Crochets in the next stitch. You should have 4 stitches now. Turn your work.
Row 3 - 4- Chain 1, Crochet 1 Single Crochet in the same stitch. Crochet 1 Single Crochet in the next 3 stitches. Turn your work.Row 5- Chain 1, Crochet 2 Single Crochet Decreases. You should have 2 stitches now. Turn your work.
Row 6- Chain 1, Crochet 1 Single Crochet Decrease. You should have 1 stitches now.
Fasten off, and weave in loose ends. Repeat duckbill pattern twice. Taking your tapestry needle, sew 1 duckbill onto the front of each duckling head. source
